What is it
A decontamination wash — also called a detailer wash or deep wash — is the deepest level of cleaning your paint can get without a polishing machine ever touching it.
Over months, paint collects contamination that bonds to the surface: iron particles from brake dust, tar spots from fresh roads, tree sap and industrial fallout. A regular wash slides right over them — you can feel them as roughness when you run your hand across the paint.
The deep wash removes all of it, chemically and with clay treatment, leaving the paint genuinely clean and glass-smooth. It’s also the essential first step before polishing, coating or PPF.
